Chris Laneman
On July 1, 2022 the surveying profession lost another monument to the profession, Christopher M. Laneman, Missouri Professional Land Surveyor #2369. Chris had over 40 years of experience in all aspects of the land surveying profession.
Like many surveyors of his generation, Chris started in the land surveying profession at a very young age working on a survey crew at James Surveying Company, founded by his uncle, James Wurm, and incorporated in 1975. Chris remained working at his uncle’s firm through licensure, leaving James Surveying Company upon Jim’s retirement.
Chris’ survey experience then brought him to be employed with the firm of Poehlman & Prost, Inc., rising to corporate land surveyor which he continued in this position until his passing.
Chris was 64 years old and leaves behind many family members and friends who respected and loved him.
